Les Fils à Maman Dijon

A very disappointing experience. Relying solely on nostalgia is unfortunately not enough. The concept of a return to childhood is appealing: the decor, with its Playmobil figures and a library filled with books that evoke fond memories, truly makes you want to sit down at the table. But as soon as the plates arrive, the magic evaporates. While the appetizers weren't bad in themselves, the main courses fell far short of expectations… and even further short of the price. The salad, accompanied by four tiny breaded chicken strips, barely bigger than a bite, felt more like playing house than having dinner. As for the Fourme d'Ambert cheese, it was surprisingly bland, and the salad clearly lacked freshness. At this price, you mostly feel like you're trying to stretch your pocket money out like when you were a child… except here, the bill is definitely for the adults. The second course didn't improve matters: a butcher's cut cooked adequately, certainly, but served in miniature portions. Again, it felt more like an imaginary afternoon tea than a proper meal. And the desserts, unfortunately, didn't redeem the rest. The raspberry-pistachio tiramisu was utterly disappointing: a thin trace of raspberry on the biscuit, a few pistachio crumbs on top, and absolutely no flavor. As for the apple crumble, it was undercooked and bland. Finally, the service was so slow it would have tested the patience of even the most well-behaved child. In short, a promising concept and attractive decor, but meager portions, insufficient value for money, and a price that leaves a bitter taste. A shame, because a trip down memory lane shouldn't mean leaving hungry. However, one positive point must be acknowledged: the service is provided with a smile and the staff are pleasant.

The meal was very good, inexpensive for the quality, the service was a little slow but I had been warned in advance so it was forgiven, the waitress and waiter were very pleasant, I recommend it.

A superb place with a brilliant concept, executed flawlessly from start to finish. What a joy to rediscover everything that made up my childhood! As for the food, it's original, excellent, and leaves you wanting more! (Special mention for the Kinder tiramisu!)
