La Halte Gourmande

Thank you, La Halte Gourmande!!! A huge thank you to the staff, especially the owner. The welcome is always so warm, and the people are lovely and always smiling. The bread is excellent; even if you moisten it and bake it a few days after buying it, it's still amazing—it's just like it's fresh. And the pastries are EXCEPTIONAL!! The viennoiseries are the same... and above all, a huge BRAVO for your Tropézienne tarts!! A BIG THANK YOU AND A BIG BRAVO TO EVERYONE!!

This bakery is terrible. The saleswoman is condescending and sighs when you ask her a question. I won't be back and I'll spread the word.

The baguettes don't weigh 250g, but rather 220g. Very good traditional baguettes, as well as the cakes.

The bread is good, the pastries too. But seeing flies in the display case is unacceptable.

How can an artisan pastry chef make such disgusting pastry cream? Of course, it's the same one used in the fig, mille-feuille, éclair, religieuse, etc.! It has no flavor whatsoever, not a hint of vanilla, no hint of alcohol. I think it's made with powder and water, and it has an elastic texture. It's sad to see this, especially on top of cakes costing over €3. Even Roger's homemade bakery does better. Really disappointed, and it's not the first time. I tried again, but that's it.

I gave it 3 stars because it's a very good bakery, but the price increases and reduced quantities need to be addressed, and I don't think it's over yet, given what's coming with the price hikes for the bags—will they soon be chargeable? Getting back to the main point, the tarts and breads have gone up in price, and there are fewer products available. Isn't that shrinkflation? The sandwiches are incredibly expensive, and they contain very little product—like a tuna tartine with just bread. They really need to go back to basics! And I'm well aware of the overhead costs, etc., but still, that doesn't justify the reduction in finished products and the price increases.

I go there regularly for my children, who love the novelty cookies they offer. As for the pastries, they're very rustic but lack consistency. I'll continue to go to support them.
